Rabat - Health minister El Houssaine Louardi said, on Wednesday, that his department has set up a nation-wide plan to prevent the entry of Ebola virus to Morocco, adding that no case of the epidemic was detected in the country until now.
The plan includes four main measures namely early detection of infection in coordination with carrier RAM, said the minister at a press conference, noting that airports and planes have been equipped with thermal cameras to spot contaminated travelers.
The measures include also preparing 4 laboratories, at the national level, that meet international criteria and carry out rapid test on suspicious subjects, in addition to taking other measures related to diagnosis and providing health care for sick people, he said, adding that a free toll number was made available to answer citizens' questions.
The official said that the ministry is monitoring the situation of 39 nationals from Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia who entered Morocco either for a visit or to stay there for good.
