Madrid - Spanish police arrested Wednesday in Murcia, in the south east of Spain, a Moroccan national who was allegedly trying to join a terrorist group in Syria, according to the Spanish Interior ministry.
The man, identified as N.B has allegedly "offered his services to a terrorist group in Syria" and "was planning to go this war-torn country", the same source said in a statement.
Spain's interior ministry added that the man's profile was typical of the newest wave of jihadists as he had acted in a clandestine manner and had gone unnoticed in his community.
The ministry called the man's arrest "of great importance" in terms of "neutralizing a serious threat".
