Abdellatif Zaghnoun, New boss of the CDG

Rabat - King Mohammed VI appointed Abdellatif Zaghnoun as general manager of the deposit and management fund (Caisse de Depot et de Gestion) on Thursday.

At the meeting of the council of Ministers chaired by the King in Fez, the chief of Taxes Abdellatif Zaghnoun has been appointed new general manager of the Deposit and Management Fund (CDG) upon proposal of the head of government and at the initiative of the Economy and Finance minister.

A graduate of the Mohammedia School of Engineering in Rabat, Abdellatif Zaghnoun began his career at L'Office Cherifien des Phosphates (OCP).

In 2003, he was appointed director of the mines pole and a member of the executive committee of the OCP.

Since 2010 until his appointment as the new boss of CDG, Zaghnoun served as the chief of the Taxes Directorate.

He succeeds Anass Alami who was suspended from his duties as the CDG chief, Morocco's financial arm, pending the outcome of legal proceedings against him and 22 other defendants following the Badis project scandal in the northern city of El Hoceima.
