Rabat - The Moroccan authorities evacuated on Tuesday a group of illegal migrants who were living in very precarious conditions in the Gourougou forest (near the Moroccan northeastern city of Nador), the interior ministry announced.
The operation took place in good conditions with the collaboration of the local administrative authorities and security services, under the supervision of the general prosecutor's office.
The operation also helped liberate several migrants, especially children and women, who were forcibly held in this forest by networks of human traffickers, says the source.
The interior ministry goes on that similar operations will be conducted to evacuate all locations squatted by migrants who plan to illegally migrate to Europe.
