Skhirate- Member of the Libyan political talks commission, Mohamed Cherif Ouafi, applauded, on Thursday in Skhirate, Morocco for its efforts in the peace talks between the Libyan factions with a view to reaching a peaceful solution to the conflict in Libya.
"We thank Morocco’s King, Government and people for the generous hospitality that they showed us and for their efforts," Cherif Ouafi told the national press, adding that the negotiations will resume this Friday under the auspices of the UN.
"We hope that Morocco will have the honor of unifying Libya and contributing to its reconciliation and reconstruction," said Cherif Ouafi, former member of the national congress.
He expressed optimism regarding the prospects of reaching a comprehensive agreement between the Libyan factions.
The delegation of the national congress arrived yesterday and negotiations were postponed from Thursday to Friday for purely logistical grounds, he said.
The talks will focus on issues pertaining to the formation of a national unity government along with security arrangements, disarmament of armed groups and the implementation of a cease fire.
