Jakarta - Foreign minister Salaheddine Mezouar arrived, on Tuesday in Jakarta, to represent Morocco in the Asia-Africa Summit, held in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Bandung Conference which led to the creation of the Non Aligned Movement (NAM).
On the sidelines of the summit themed "Development of south-south cooperation to foster prosperity and peace worldwide", Mezouar will meet with several Indonesian officials and leaders of delegations.
He will give a speech on behalf of Morocco during the summit plenary session, which is attended by representatives of international organizations such as the UN, the Arab League, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the Asian Development Bank.
According to the organizers, the Asia-Africa Summit is an occasion to discuss means to reinforce cooperation between Africa and Asia in the different areas for a better future, in keeping with the spirit of the Asia-Africa strategic partnership signed in 2005 in Bandung.
