Skhirat- Ministers and high-level representatives of members of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), as well as the European Commissioner in charge of Climate Action and Energy attended, Thursday in Skhirat (outskirts of of Rabat), an Informal UfM high-level conference on climate change.
The high-level conference was the opportunity to give enhanced visibility to the work that is being carried out in the field of climate change within the framework of the Union for the Mediterranean, taking into account that the UNFCCC COP 21 to be held in Paris is approaching and also that Morocco will host the COP 22 next year.
This high-level conference was preceded by the second meeting of the Union for the Mediterranean Climate Change Expert Group (UfMCCEG).
Both UfM gatherings happened in the framework of the Mediterranean Climate Week that brought together, on May 4-7, several climate change related events.
