Rabat- Moroccan flag carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and European leader in Aircraft painting and sealing STTS inaugurated on Friday, May 8th a new painting hangar at the Casablanca Mohammed V Airport.
In 2014, the two parties signed a MoU to establish a Joint Venture specializing in aircraft painting at International Casablanca Mohammed V Airport. Royal Air Maroc holds a 50.1 per cent stake in the company and French group STTS will hold 49.9 per cent.
The company represents an investment of MAD35 million. It is expected to employ 50 technicians when it is fully operational.
The new facility will provide painting services for narrowbody aircrafts, particularly the 737 and the A320, for Royal Air Maroc as well as third-party clients.
According to the company, the new facility will also cater to RAM aircrafts, external clients from Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as military and private aircrafts.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Aziz Rabbah, Minister of Transport and Equipment, said that the opening of the facility proves that Morocco offers the best deals in terms of business climate.
Headquartered in Toulouse, STTS owns 15 painting hangars worldwide and in 2013 painted 360 aircraft.
