Rabat - A Moroccan man died while being smuggled into Spain in the boot of a car, reports say.
The 27-year-old man was stowed inside a suitcase on a five-hour ferry crossing from Melilla to the Spanish city of Almeria.
According to media reports, the Moroccan man suffocated to death while attempting to cross on Sunday evening.
The suitcase was hidden inside the boot of a car belonging to the victim's 34-year-old brother, who was on the same ferry.
The brother has been arrested for murder, says a Spanish government spokesman. He is being held in the Spanish city of Almeria. The identity of the dead Moroccan has not been officially revealed.
Around 7,000 undocumented migrants were intercepted trying to enter Spain illegally last year, according to European border control agency Frontex.
In May, an eight-year-old boy from Ivory Coast was discovered inside a suitcase of a Moroccan woman as it went through a security check point at the Ceuta border control.
