Rabat - According to the National Office of Airports, the commercial air traffic in Morocco's various airports recorded 1.915.301 passengers at the end of August 2015; an increase of 1.74 percent compared to the same period last year (1.882.552).
During the last seven months, the passenger traffic reached 11.754.943, a rise of 1.43 percent compared to the same period last year.
Mohamed V International Airport in Casablanca came first in terms of passenger traffic with 48.99%, followed by Marrakesh-Menara Airport (17.05%), Agadir-Massira (7.12%), and Tangier-IbnBatouta (6.02%). The other airports did not exceed 5%, the source said.
According to statistics by the Office, the commercial air traffic increased at both internal flights (3.18%) and international flights (1.6%).
An increase of 35.42% in freight traffic was also recorded; an improvement from 3.314.088 tons in 2014 to 4.489.013 tons in August 2015.
