Rabat - Spanish security secretary of state Francisco Martinez lauded, on Monday in Rabat, the "fruitful and deep" security cooperation between Rabat and Madrid.
"We surveyed different matters of shared interest, mainly the fight against drug trafficking, terrorism and extremism, and illegal immigration," Martinez told the press after his talks with minister delegate to the Interior Minister Charki Draiss, commending the cooperation between both countries' interior departments in all areas.
The meeting was an occasion to underscore efforts made by the two countries to counter security threats, he said, voicing his country's gratitude to King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan government for the Moroccan-Spanish extraordinary security cooperation.
This cooperation, which is very successful, was recently crowned by the smashing of a terrorist ring operating in Morocco and Spain, he recalled.
