Rabat- The European Union hailed the reform of military justice in Morocco," a measure that is consistent with the provisions of the new constitution that consolidates the standardization of national legislation with international principles."
"The EU, which is actively working with the Moroccan Ministry of Justice to prepare a program to support the reform of the justice field, welcomes the initiative to reform the Military Code of Justice and hopes that the Parliament will allow these new provisions come into force soon," said, in a statement, Ambassador of the European Union in Rabat, Rupert Joy.
"Limiting the powers of military courts to military offenses only, excluding civilians in all circumstances, and the alignment of procedures to those applied in the ordinary courts are measures that strengthen the standarization measures of national legislation with international principles, according to the guidelines of the new constitution," he said, adding that "the draft law on military justice adopted by the Council of Ministers, has my full attention."
