Kuwait city - Foreign Minister, Salaheddine Mezouar highlighted, Sunday in Kuwait City, the importance of reconciliation between the Arab countries and overcoming differences at a challenging juncture for the Arab Umma.
In a statement to the press on the sidelines of the Arab Foreign Ministers preparatory meeting of the 25th Arab Summit, held under the theme "Solidarity for a better future," the minister noted the need to end violence and fighting in Syria, and protect civilians, while supporting the process of political negotiations, in accordance with the recommendations of Geneva 1. Mezouar expressed hope that the Summit, which takes place at a crucial juncture, will reach tangible results for the Palestinian cause, through an unwavering support for the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, in the negotiations process and for the creation of an independent Palestinian State with Al-Quds as its capital. He recalled that HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of Al-Quds Committee, had stressed the need to adopt a practical approach to thwart the plans to Judaize Al-Quds and end the Israeli settlement policy, which requires strengthening the efforts of all the Arab and Islamic countries. He also reiterated Morocco's position in the fight against terrorism, given its experience in this field.
