Marrakech - The 13th International Arab Mineral Resources Conference kicked off Monday in Marrakech, under the slogan "mineral resources: promising potential for sustainable development," with the participation of several Arab ministers in charge of mineral resources, experts, and leaders of organizations working in the mining sector.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, organized under the auspices of King Mohammed VI, minister of energy, mines, water and the environment, Abdelkader Aamara, said that "the importance of mineral resources in the Arab world encourages us all to focus on our development and transformation projects, instead of simply exporting raw material."
It also aims at discussing the impact of the mineral sector on the economies of Arab countries, the promotion of mining projects, the development of mining legislation and the elimination of obstacles hindering Arab and foreign investments in this sector.
