New York - Morocco asks that the UN Secretariat show "neutrality" and "professionalism" in dealing with the Moroccan Sahara issue, said, Tuesday in New York, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Morocco to the UN, Omar Hilale.
"We ask that the UN Secretariat show professionalism and keep equal distance from all the parties," said Hilale during a press conference following the adoption by the Security Council of Resolution 2152 extending the mandate of MINURSO for one year until April, 30, 2015.
"In accordance with this parameter, and especially the legal parameters of negotiation, Morocco is willing to go further with the Secretariat and with all the partners," said the Moroccan diplomat, reiterating Morocco's trust in the UN Secretary General.
"The choice of Morocco to negotiate a mutually acceptable political solution is irreversible, and we will work on that in the months to come," said Ambassador Hilale.
