Casablanca - Morocco’s internal affairs minister, Mohamed Hassad, confirmed on Wednesday that a safety installation project along Morocco’s border is under construction.
According to le360, Minister Hassad stated, "Morocco will build a fence full of electronic sensors to offer protection against terrorist threats” along its border.
The clear separation aims to prevent terrorists from passing across Morocco’s borders. Although increased police roadside checks offer a sense of security, the country continues to fear that terrorism affecting Morocco’s neighbors could easily reach Moroccan territory.
It is hoped that the completion of the security fence along the border with Algeria will keep the Kingdom of Morocco safe from terrorism attacks, especially from the Sahel region.
